The Delhaize Ahold distribution center in Belgrade is a highly complex logistics hub spanning approximately 45,000 square meters. A facility of this immense scale—which includes highly sensitive areas such as specialized banana ripening rooms—experiences an exceptionally high daily throughput of goods and non-stop, multi-shift traffic from heavy forklifts and pallet jacks.
Given the sheer size and intensity of operations, the primary challenge was identifying and securing thousands of critical vulnerability points. Sandwich panels, exposed corners, long transport aisles, high-speed industrial doors, and cold-room infrastructure were under constant threat of severe, repeated impacts. The client required an enterprise-grade, heavy-duty impact protection system capable of withstanding relentless daily logistical loads without hindering operational speed.

Following a meticulous structural risk analysis of the entire facility, we engineered and executed a massive-scale deployment of our flexible polymer systems. The installation encompassed over 2,100 linear meters of barriers and 2,000 individual protective units.
The engineered setup included PCK D100 Solid (single and double bumpers), heavy-duty PCK300 guardrails, and an array of impact-absorbing bollards (D100, D120, and D140/430mm). Each operational zone received a customized protection configuration tailored to specific vehicle traffic directions, equipment weights, and maximum potential impact intensity.
The Result: The comprehensive shielding system successfully fortified the sprawling 45,000 m² facility. The risk of costly structural and equipment damage has been drastically minimized, ensuring completely uninterrupted logistics flows while significantly elevating workplace safety for hundreds of employees.
